When Guinness compiled the Black List, few realized how much people had been experimenting with Guinness over the years. In fact, mixtures of many different variations for centuries. It is believed to originate from the Royal Flying Corps.  After dinner, a few officers took to drinking Guinness instead of port.
The Guinness decanter was passed around clockwise.  The two decanters happened to meet at the head of the table.  The
officer in that position absent-mindedly poured both drinks into his glass and found the result quite enjoyable.

Half & Half...Guinness & Harp 
A drink with many names: Arf and Arf, Long Ship, & Light and Dark.  Out of all the recipes, this seems to be the second
most popular.  We recommend equal measures of Guinness and Harp Lager for the finest results.
